The Value Of Visitors

I ask this question everyday to the people whom I coach...
"How many visitors are coming to your site everyday?"
Usually the silence is deafening...
The majority of people cannot answer that question. And I consider it
one
of the most important questions in a marketing campaign.
The three components of successful marketing are:
1) How much traffic are you getting?
2) What is your conversion rate?
3) What are the supply and demand factors of your niche?
People think that the answer is "just add more traffic." In many
instances traffic is not going to solve any problems. A lousy web page
is
a lousy web page and all the traffic in the world will not change that.
When I first started marketing online I considered myself a dismal
failure
because I had a 2% conversion rate on one of my websites.
Out of every 100 visitors that I sent to my site 2 would purchase and
the
average purchase was $120.00. After attending a conference and talking
with some experts I discovered that my STATS were actually quite good.
This is very important data because it tells me EXACTLY what the
estimation of effort is to REALLY make money.
Let's do some elementary math.
100 visitors
2 sales totaling $240
Each visitor is then worth $2.40
With this data I can approach affiliate partners with huge confidence.
By increasing the LINKS in to the website I can predict exactly how
much
traffic I will need to make $10,000.00 in sales.
Then I just have to figure out how to stand in front of other peoples
traffic :-)

Why I am a Search Engine Optimization Renegade...
Why I am a Search Engine Optimization Renegade...

I want to share with you the question that
turned the LIGHTS on for me as far as Search
Engine Optimization is concerned.
Ready?
OK. Now before I share the question with
you, I want to make sure you understand that
I am not AGAINST the Search Engines. I have
leaned that being against stuff is not very
effective. Anti War simply promotes the idea
of WAR....you have to be pro PEACE. And
you'll soon come to recognize I am all about
building a better internet.
SEARCH today is very barbaric, ambiguos and
arbitrary.
OK...here is the question that turned the
lights on for me...
"Why is it that the Search Engines DO NOT
have an ongoing workable definition of
QUALITY?"
I have wrestled with that question for years.
Ebay has a workable definition of quality.
You can easily see the feedback rating of
every ebay member and it clearly defines the
potential risk of the transaction.
Amazon has a workable definition of quality.
You can easily see the ranking of the book in
terms of sales and the reviews of people who
have read the book.
All businesses have to have a workable
definition of quality.
However, when it comes to Search Engines none
of these monstrocities are capable of
providing us with a workable definition of
quality.
I wonder why that is?
Every other profession has a workable
definition of quality.
When we were in school all of our teachers
had workable definitions of quality. Imagine
how horrible school would have been if they
hadn't?
Or imagine what a restaurant would be like if
it did not have a working definition of
quality.
Here is the point. If an industry does not
have a workable definition of quality....how
can they deliver "quality and relevant"
results?
The obvious logical conclusion is that they
CANNOT.
So what is it then that search engines
actually deliver?
The answer to that question is OPTIMIZED
RESULTS.
And there is a HUGE difference between
QUALITY RESULTS and OPTIMIZED RESULTS.
I'll discuss EXACTLY WHAT THAT MEANS in my
next communication to you which you will
receive in two days. Optimized Results is a
far, far cry from QUALITY.
This is what the SEARCH ENGINES never want
you to discover!

Tips On Finding YOUR Business
Tips On Finding YOUR Business
Copyright © Jennifer Kessinger
http://www.BrightFutureWeb.com/pips.html
It's been estimated that over 82% of all new businesses fail within the first 3 years! And the remaining businesses that are "making it" are only breaking even. If that isn't bad enough, only 3-4% of new businesses actually make a sizeable profit after 5 years! Why?
Why do so many businesses fail and so little succeed?
From all the years of consulting, from small home-businesses to Fortune 500 companies, I've learned that virtually every single failed business lacked one or more (usually all) of the essential key ingredients needed for total business success.
The Main Way You'll Make Money
Whether you presently have a business or you're thinking of starting one soon, the main way you're going to make money is by selling, distributing or producing a service or product. Regardless of whether your business is on the Internet or off, there are specific reasons why businesses fail and succeed.
Get out a pen and paper and start taking some notes because I'm about to reveal the FOUR ESSENTIAL AND KEY ELEMENTS needed to have a successful business by selling, distributing or producing a service or product.
Use these elements as a checklist for all present and future products.
If you've ever had a product that's failed, I can guarantee that it lacked one or more of these key elements. Even if you don't have a product, I'll reveal a few money-making secrets in a minute!
Okay, let's get started with element number one:
1) Look for a market that already exists.
There is an old saying that says the "first one through the door has all the arrows in his back." (I don't remember exactly how the saying goes, but that's close enough.) This means that the first one to "pave the road" does all the work and hence - spends all the money! Usually, most people AFTER him ride his "coat tails" and his success.
It's much easier to sell a product if it already has "public awareness". For example, a couple years ago everybody was selling some type of abdominal machine for toning the stomach muscles. Names like "The Ab Roller" or "The Ab Sculptor" dominated all the infomercials on TV.
Editor's Note: The above abdominal machine names were first making their wave in the early 1990's. And that's the reference this article was making when it was first published a few years ago. Well, now that we are in the new millennium - NOTHING HAS CHANGED. (Which shows just how important and CORRECT this article has been in foretelling the future).
Today, we still have a million ab machine infomercials. The concept has not changed... only the names have. Now they are called things like, "AbSlide", "AB-DOer", "Ab Flex", "Ab Rocker", etc., etc.
I consulted on a couple of these infomercials and here's the real scoop; the first "ab machine" infomercial didn't do too well (it sucked big time), but all the ones after that original infomercial did millions of dollars in pure profit! Why?...
Because you and I were now "aware" of abdominal machines, we had gained a certain familiarity and therefore we trusted the idea of "Losing 3 inches in 10 days!"
Trust is BIG factor!
Familiarity is an even BIGGER factor because familiarity naturally converts into trust without any extra work.
That's why competition is a GREAT thing! But I'll get to that in a minute. In the mean time, when choosing a successful product to market, make sure a successful market for it already exists and the road has already been "paved" for it or you'll end up spending (and wasting) much of your time and money trying to convince people of your product.
Here's Proof!
Okay, let's change subjects for a second and let me ask you a question. Do you use deodorant? Come on, be honest. "Most of the time," you say. But definitely this morning right? Good, so did I (as I sneak a sniff of my armpits) and I bet most people do too.
So, it's safe to say that there is a fairly large market for it, right?.... Well, did you know it took over 25 years and millions of dollars for deodorant companies to condition and create "public awareness" regarding the daily use of deodorants and anti-perspirants!
I don't know about you, but I sure as heck don't have 25 years to "test" a marketing idea hoping it'll go well. Don't waste your time or money creating a NEW market for your product.
It's too risky! Especially for the small entrepreneur trying to make it on a small budget. Don't waste your time or money creating a NEW market for your product. Find a successful market FIRST, then create a product for it!
How To Find "Money-Makers"!
Okay, so how do you find existing and successful markets? Simple!... Go to the library and get 3-5 past issues of a particular magazine, newspaper or newsletter having to do with your market and look at all the ads. Look at the full-page and display ads, as well as the classifieds. (By the way, you can easily do this with the online newsletters and ezines as well, or banner ads at the top search engines.) Just look for REPETITION of the same particular ad. Or, look for numerous ads about the same topic or subject matter.
If you see the same ad for a particular product or market being advertised week after week, and month after month, you can be certain that the product is selling well (Most people will not place ads for long durations if they are not making money.)
Other Great Places To Find Money...
Another fantastic place to look would be television and your own cable channels. Watch the Home Shopping Channel or QVC and see what is being sold. See how fast the items are being sold. This is a dead give-away to see which products are doing well and which are bombing big time. (If the telephone lines light up like crazy, then it's a winning product!)
If your looking for software ideas, go to http://www.download.com and check out the "Top" downloaded software programs (or their "most popular" downloads). Chances are, the more an item/software has been downloaded, the more "in-demand" it is and hence, the BIGGER the market! Another place to go is http://www.pcmag.com. Check out their "Top 100 Web Sites." I'm sure you'll begin to see a trend for "winning" products and Web sites.
You should also see what's hot at the auction sites like ebay.com. Both Yahoo.com and Amazon.com also have great auction sites.
Okay, now you've got your product and you know there is a market for it, so now what do you do?
IMPROVE IT!
Don't reinvent the wheel, just make it better and faster! Let's go back to the abdominal machine example. I'm sure many of you have seen the Tony Little infomercials from a few years ago (he's the guy who's got long blond hair and is jumping around all over the place with tons of fantastic energy).
Well, just when everybody thought the ab-machine infomercials were dying down and becoming too saturated, Tony blew everyone away and created a new record on QVC for selling the most products in one day. (By the way, he sold 18 semi-eighteen-wheeler truckloads of his ab machine in just ONE day. I want you to picture 18 semi's driving down a road filled to the gills with his product - that's an awesome site!)
Here's Tony's Million Dollar Secret
Do you want to know the secret to Tony's success... how he sold so much in just one day? It's actually real easy!
While all the other infomercials were concentrating on the benefit of strengthening your abdominal muscles, Tony took it a step further and said (and showed) how his "new" ab-machine will ALSO strengthen your neck and back muscles and help relieve low back pain. Now, let me ask you a question - how many people do you know have some type of back pain? Chances are a WHOLE BUNCH!
Tony opened up and expanded on a market that ALREADY existed. Not only did he get all the people with stomach problems to identify with his product, but he also got another huge portion of the population with back problems.
Summary: So, once you find the product with an existing market, improve it and make it better. Offer a better guarantee or more bonuses. Brainstorm on the benefits and open the market up to more people who can identify with your product.
Anyway, there you have it. The first element of success!

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work
from home and make money on the Internet. But
before you even turn on your computer, the first
question you have to ask yourself is whether
you’re cut out for this kind of work.
The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t
for everyone. Some people like the commute. They
really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what
to do, and they like the routine of working
nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can
barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think
they’re nuts.
More reasonably, there are people who are
concerned about the risk of starting up their own
business. They’re not sure it’s worth the
investment of time and money, and they’re scared
of the responsibility that comes with running
their own company. They wonder if there is
another way to escape the rat race.
I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or
wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you
her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen
and paper and draw the blueprint for "The Next
Big Thing". Anything can happen... Right?
For me, what happened was creating a successful,
self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t
happen without effort. It didn’t happen without
at least some initial investment of both time and
money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now
without me making sure that the taxes are filed
and the paperwork is done. But it happened.
I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my
own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my
business makes. If you’re prepared to give an
e-business the time, the work and the money it
needs to get started and get growing, it can
happen for you too.

Why Ignoring Bouncebacks Can Ruin Your Email Success
Why Ignoring Bouncebacks Can Ruin Your Email Success
Copyright © Jennifer Kessinger
http://www.BrightFutureWeb.com/pips.html
If you use email, chances are you have seen a "bounceback" message in your inbox. You get one whenever you send an email to someone and then -- for whatever reason -- their server rejects the message.
The "bounceback" message usually contains the original email you sent, as well as an explanation as to why the message was rejected.
There are two types of bouncebacks you need to know about:
Type #1: Hard Bouncebacks
A hard bounceback occurs when you send a message to an email account that no longer exists. The account has been closed for some reason, so the mail server that hosted the account will send your message back, notifying you of this change.
Hard bouncebacks are particularly common when you send mail to free email accounts with providers such as Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo. That's because many people use these free accounts as a secondary or disposable account for random newsletter subscriptions and such.
When the volume of email to their free account gets too high, people often shut it down, create a new one, and move on.
But unfortunately -- if they forget to send you their new address -- you're stuck with an email address that no longer exists!
Type #2: Soft Bouncebacks
A soft bounceback occurs when you send an email to an account that is still valid but is temporarily unable to receive email. The most common cause of soft bouncebacks is when an email account is too full or the server that hosts the account is temporarily down.
Why You need to Manage Your Bouncebacks
Because soft bouncebacks are generated when an email account is still valid, you don't need to remove them from your email list. Where you want to focus your attention is on hard bouncebacks.
In order to maintain the highest deliverability, you need to constantly remove hard bouncebacks from your email list.
If you continue to send email to addresses that are no longer valid, the ISPs (Internet service providers) that previously hosted those addresses may consider you a spammer -- and block ALL the email you send to any other email accounts they host.
For example, let's say I have 1000 @yahoo.com addresses on my email list and over a period of 6 months 100 of those email accounts are closed and become invalid.
If I still continue to send email to those invalid accounts, Yahoo will assume that I'm a spammer sending unsolicited email to random accounts -- and they will block any emails I send to the 900 remaining valid accounts.
Ouch!
The process of managing your bouncebacks is called "list hygiene." In order to get the highest amount of email delivered to your subscribers, you want to stay on top of your list hygiene and remove email addresses from your list as soon as you get a hard bounceback after sending to them.
Automate the Process
As your list grows, you'll want to invest in some software that will help you categorize and manage your bouncebacks.
Most email software packages or services provide this feature. If yours doesn't, then it's probably time to upgrade!
Don't Forget to Follow up and Get the New Address!
If you do get a hard bounceback from a previous customer, be sure to follow up with them via phone or even snail mail to get their updated information.
All your customers are valuable and you don't want to lose a single one from your list! The time you invest getting their updated email address is typically time well spent.
Remember, this is just one step in maintaining a clean email list that gets the best deliverability.
Happy Emailing!

Today is "content day"
So hands up who has a site that looks like everyone
elses ?
- or is full of copied articles ?
- or is a one page sales letter ?
- or is a scapped website for adsense ?
- or is a site you just placed on the web ?
Most websites fall into the above categories, and in
reality, *if* the web were built for humans, no one
would be visiting these sites.
But there *are* ways of developing your site
that's not going to take you hours per day that
will produce content that both the search engines
love, and people will love.
You see if people love them they will also
- bookmark your site and come back later
- tell people about it
..and even link to it - blimey !
So the old adage is really to build a site for
your visitors.
So how do you do it? Here's some tip-ettes;
- if you must use content people already are using
online, then make some changes to it...
- think about who your website is aimed towards
- promote yourself as an expert and write as one
- develop a newsletter - one newsletter per week becomes
50 pages of content in a year (and a 50 page ebook product
you can then sell on yoursite)
- get others to write your content for you (I cover this
indepth on my videos, and it's not as hard as you think)
To your success,
